VCA Hawthorn Animal Hospital

I have been going to this location for 8 years since I got my dog. I went in today because he had his shot due ( I belong to the VCA wellness club), so, we went in for his scheduled vaccine. I asked that they clip his nail ( done it a few times) and it’s been around $17.00 “ish”. Today when I checked out, she told me it was $32.70?! That is obnoxious! I told her whenever I’ve done it before it was with the vet.. I was with a tech today… that makes sense that it’s more because of that… uhm, NOT! I could have had an entire grooming done for that with the nails. I am beyond disgusted with them. I was in and out with my dog pooping, peeing, shot, and nails in less than 10 minutes. I have used multiple VCA animal hospitals over the last 15 years, and they have all been wonderful. VCA Hawthorn is no exception. They have taken great care of our 3 pets. I love that I can get my dog's monthly medication delivered right to my door each month. Highly recommend!

The front staff at this location are all great and very responsive when I needed documents emailed and medicines ordered via phone. I had to reduce a star because the doctor required our 1 year old german shepherd, who is very friendly and high energy, take trazodone before coming for any appointment. This is the first time I’ve ever had a vet ask to drug any of my dogs because they didn’t know how to distract him (w.g. With food) for examination and/or vaccinations. I’d rather take him somewhere that knows how to handle social and excitable dogs.

I have had the best vet and staff experience at this location! I highly recommend bringing your pet(s) here. They also think of all the little things which meant the world to me.

Been coming here for 2 years with my dog. They do a great job with taking care and explaining all of my dog's problems. Highly recommend.
