VCA Animal Medical Center of Southern California

My golden retriever ate a plastic bag and ultimately needed emergency surgery for a blockage. The staff at VCA was amazing, communicative, thoughtful, and clearly loved and cared for all of the animals, especially the inpatients. The primary vet called twice per day to provide updates, and with 10am-10pm visiting hours we got to spend a lot of time with him as an in-patient. While I was visiting with my dog, so many of the vet techs came up to say hello to him and knew the exact progress he needed to make for next steps. We are so thankful to the staff at VCA and grateful that our dog is back home with us.

I cannot say better things about my experiences here with Dr. Youngblood. She has taken care of my elderly chihuahua for the last couple of years and has completely saved her on multiple accounts. Not only does Dr. Youngblood help guide your decisions using her medical expertise, but you can tell she truly cares. The rest of the staff here has always been very kind and caring toward my dog, too. I cannot thank Dr. Youngblood enough for everything she has done for us. I fully trust and appreciate her (and her staff) so much!

If I was able to give 0 stars I totally would !! Don't bring your pups to this Hospital! I took my 8-month old husky there because she wasn't eating, was throwing up, and had diarrhea and my baby died 2 days later. She was seen by Dr. William Husky and he only suggested a few shots and an X-Ray. She had that done and was sent home with some prescribed medication. Dr. Husky said she was stable and that she had probably eaten something bad to her stomach. My baby was able to walk when we took her that Thursday night and the next day she was super weak. I didn't think much of it because he said she was stable and I figured the medication had her feeling fatigued. I was under the impression she was going to get better and she passed the day after. This is a fantastic VCA!! Easy parking, very clean and beautiful office, with very kind staff. I got a coupon from IG to have my first visit and I was expecting it to be loud and crowded, kind of like an emergency room but it wasn’t that at all! The doctor was very kind, thorough, answered all my questions and put me at ease. It was a seamless experience and I’m very grateful to all the doctors and staff here for having Little One & me last weekend. Oh that’s the other thing — amazing hours here!! So helpful to have Sunday hours so I don’t have to take off of work 🙏
