We have been going to VCA LG for over 10 years and have had mostly good experiences which is why we’ve continued our dogs care here. However this past week we experienced exceptional care with Dr. Peterson and the front desk staff. Our dog Molly was bitten by another dog and we were unsure of the extent of it. VCA was able to get Molly in emergently and Dr. Peterson took her right to surgery to clean and close her wound before infection set in. Dr. Peterson then waited at the end of the day to give us the full report in person, we knew Molly was in great hands and she’s healing beautifully thanks to the great care she received! This care could have gone in many different directions including waiting in a vet ER for hours and missing the window to treat her but VCA LG and Dr. Peterson got o
DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!!! I brought my kittens 3 months ago and it turns out they falsely submitted medical history on one kitten because they mixed it up with the other and documented it on both of them. I had no idea about them incorrectly labeling them until my insurance company denied the claim saying that she had a prior health condition. Even though the doctor told us she was healthy and didn't have a URI. Only concern that was noted was underweight. Emily, the manager was extremely rude, would keep talking over me and wouldn't let me finish talking. She HUNG UP and said she would not fix their mistakes. I'm extremely disappointed in how they aren't taking accountability and how rude and dismissive the interactions were with the whole situation.
It has been almost 3 years since we have been coming to this VCA. The staff is very friendly and super nice. They make me and my dog very comfortable every time we visit. My dog is seen by Dr Peterson and I trust her a lot. My dog has a rare disease and Dr Peterson was quick to find out. She answers all my questions patiently. :) She always gives honest opinions. It gets busy here so I make sure that I am booking appointments in advance. I am really happy with the care my dog got recently for dental surgery and cleaning. I love that they put the name of all the dogs on a board who are visiting that day.
In October 2019 I brought my collie to this animal hospital to have her teeth cleaned and a few small benign masses removed. To this day more than 5 years later, even after she has now passed, I deeply regret that decision. I had previously asked for a small mass on one of her nipples on her stomach to be removed (I was overly anxious and this was taken advantage of to make more money). I was assured during that appointment that it would just be the mass removed and not her entire nipple. After the procedure, I noticed that blood was dripping from her stomach onto the floor. I looked and saw that her entire nipple had been removed. I was sick with regret and the horrible realization that I had made a big mistake. I was younger then and did not know better or how to advocate for myself, al
This is a long overdue post to thank Dr. Wiese (and Brittany) for their excellent care of our dogs, but especially our dog Oreo. Oreo has been battling chronic heart failure for over two years and then suddenly lost the use of his back legs. We had scheduled a euthanasia appointment but brought him to see Dr. Wiese as she knows him and we wanted to get her professional opinion. Dr. Wiese spent A LOT of time with us, discussing options and examining oreo. I won’t go into all the details as I don’t want Oreo’s experience to give someone false hope about their dog, but she recommended a treatment, which resulted in him regaining the use of his back legs and really returning to ‘normal’. We know that this is temporary as he’s 15 and still battling CHF, but we now have a little more qualit
