A couple of weeks ago I brought in my five-year-old daughter to adopt a cat. She immediately fell in love with a certain cat, Lucky, so we went up front to adopt him. I was told that we couldn't take him home yet because he had just had surgery and we had to wait 24 hours, but with a $20 down payment they would hold him for us. The next day (Saturday) I came to pick him up and I was told that it would be a 1.5-2 hour wait. My daughter and I had a father/daughter dance that evening, so I didn't have 2 hours to wait. They told me that it was fine and that I could come back the next day. I asked them about the hold, and they told me that it wouldn't be a problem and that they would continue to hold the cat for us. I came in the next day and they said, "Oh, we lifted the hold earlier an

I love animals but this place is bad. Every dog i met just pees everywhere and the girl here said they dont bother takeing them out because the dogs dont want to go out in the cold. So they are very untrained dont even know how to sit and have no human connection. They told me to lock the dog in a room for 3 months so she can warm up to my house and other pet??? So I'm supposed to have a room soaked with pee and poop and destroy my home???

I adopted an 8-week-old puppy from the Toledo Humane Society on November 1st. At the time, I was informed that her entire litter had tested positive for roundworm, and I was sent home with antibiotics. They also assured me that the condition wasn’t contagious to my other dog. Shortly after bringing her home, she began showing signs of kennel cough, including persistent coughing. I immediately contacted Toledo Humane Society and left a voicemail. They later told me to bring her in for a drop-off appointment, which felt concerning. I also noticed discrepancies in her paperwork, such as her gender being listed incorrectly. At adoption, they gave me a waiver that was supposed to cover up to $200 in vet expenses. However, when both my puppy and my other dog needed medication, none of those me

Every experience I've had there has been awful. When I took a cat in because it was sick and I was okayed by a rescue to bring it in, what I was met with was "we're just going to put it down." When I spotted my dog from there 20 years ago and realized they have no idea what they are doing because they wanted to fit a bitey border collie to a family with 10 children, luckily I got to him first. When I got my sisters dog out of a cage that was meant for a Chihuahua, but he was a lab... I can continue. But the worst part is they are in charge of animal cruelty in Toledo and they don't take a single second of it seriously. Just a sad waste of tax payer dollars.

I think they do a pretty good job considering what they have to deal with on a daily basis. I’ve never had any problems with them. The only issue I’ve ever had was a recent ear tip procedure for a stray cat that I brought in needing to be spayed and most likely going back outdoors so she was in need of an ear tip. I understand the reason behind the ear tip and I don’t have a problem with it, but what I do have a problem with is how much of this particular ear that was taken off I feel that it was in excess and took a while to heal. I’ve only ever seen the tip of the ear taken, but in this case, it seems to be half of the ear was taken off I felt pretty bad for her and wished I hadn’t had it done. Hopefully in the future this doesn’t keep happening.
