For Christmas, I gave my border collie the present of an instinct test with Victoria. He passed, and LOVED the sheep (at first he kept trying to lick their faces until the sheep informed him that that was NOT the way it worked.) We have been doing herding training with her about once a week for the past several months and it has been a fantastic experience. Victoria is very patient and encouraging, even when we would hit a behavior snag (he ignored the 'down' command for quite a while). She clearly loves what she does, and completely understands how the herding dog thinks. On top of the herding training, she has given me many useful tips on basic training. It is so much fun to see the dog completely invested in the experience and doing what he was bred to do. I highly recommend it!

I scheduled a herding test for my Australian Cattle Dog with Victoria Long at Wine Glass Ranch. My appointment was at 10:00 AM, and I arrived at the gate right at 10:00. I had some trouble with the gate code, so I called her and said, “Hi Victoria, I’m here, but—” before I could finish, she cut me off and said, “You’re not here, because I’m standing here and you’re not here.” Like other reviewers have mentioned, she may be good at communicating with dogs, but I didn’t even get the chance to find out because of how rude and dismissive she was. I believe working with dogs is not only about training them, but also helping owners build stronger relationships with their dogs. We brought our dog to Wineglass for instinct testing. It was a great short process! He was assessed for herding behaviors and had the chance to respond to a small group of sheep in a corral. Victoria gave us a ton of great info to help us move forward with training in our hometown! Definitely recommend!
