The Salty Dog

Visited on a quiet, rainy Monday in February. Town was deserted, but the shops were open. We found the shop employee (owner?) to be friendly and helpful, but not at all pushy. Cute array of products. We're staying at a "no dogs on the furniture" resort down the road that features Pendleton upholstered furnishings. The pups wanted something more upscale, than their old, worn Costco travel beds and crates. Here they are happily sharing their new Pendleton dog mat and West Paws toy.

Great selection of dog, toys treats and apparel for your pup, something for every size dog under the sun. I had to go in and get the details on the “do it yourself” dog washing center. The cost is $25-30 depending on how big or dirty your pup is, a real must, after a day playing and running around on the beach. Highly recommended, will update after I bring my boy in for a wash, and let you know how that goes. The lady behind the counter was really nice and informative.

The dog wash area would benefit from brighter lighting. Reasonable cost of $25. This is an excellent place to buy a gift for your pet or for your pet-obsessed friends.

We had such a wonderful experience at The Salty Dog! The owner was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain everything and made sure we felt comfortable with our purchase. It was especially reassuring to know that if something didn’t work out, she was more than happy to accommodate an exchange. Her kindness and customer service truly made our visit memorable!

Without any warning a rude older clerk slammed the shop door on my 6 year old grandson's face. The clerk shouted in a louder than necessary voice that they had reached their maximum capacity of 5 people. My grandson was embarrassed and began to cry so we left the shop. This clerk needs lessons in proper etiquette and people skills. She is a perfect example of a BULL in a China shop... she shouldn't be employed in a pet shop.
