Very positive adoption and clinic experience with The Pixie Project! We added two furry members to our family a few weeks ago. Everyone I interacted with was so kind and attentive, they care a lot about the animals in their care and it shows. Both the kitty adoption center and vet clinic are really nice and centrally located. Special thank you to Payton for going above and beyond to help us get our boys settled at home. I am not giving them 1 star BECAUSE they are transparent about their euthanasia stance, at least in my case. I am very ill and could no longer care for my 2 cats. When I called the very first thing I wanted to make sure, was that this was a NK shelter, I was informed that it is most definitely not. I was told that of one/both of my cats exhibited intense separation anxiety/depression, that they would be euthanized. I immediately went to reddit and found an UNBELIEVABLY fantastic place that truly loves and cares for the cats they help. 1000% a NK shelter ... House of Dreams ❤️🖤

We adopted our wonderful puppy from Pixie Project this summer, and we couldn't be happier. The entire experience was fantastic, but it was especially wonderful working with the owner, Amy. You can tell she puts her whole heart into this rescue organization. She took the time to ensure we were matched with the perfect pup for our family. If you're looking to adopt, I highly recommend this place.

I am aware that there is a severe influx of animals needing homes, but this does not justify any "rescue" or "adoption shelter" to be so quick to euthanize for reasons that are merely inconvenient. The email my friend received regarding their practices states that they euthanize for chronic debilitating health conditions, thats understandable. However, they also euthanize for "seperation anxiety". These animals have been abandoned by their whole world and you expect them not to be upset about it? "Innapropriate urination/defecation"? Theyre scared! They dont understand whats happening to them! A piddle in the cage constitutes a death sentence? Incontinence devalues their right to live? No. This is unacceptable.

When I contacted Pixie Project for help rehoming my dog, who had situational anxiety in a busy home (adding another dog and later a baby) I was told by Amy that euthanasia was the best option. My dog was otherwise healthy and behaviorally manageable in the right setting. He has since been successfully adopted into a calmer home, where his anxiety has resolved. Given that outcome, I find Amy's overall advice and the euthanasia recommendation very concerning. I would strongly encourage others in a similar situation to seek a second opinion and consider working with a different rescue organization before making any irreversible decisions about an otherwise healthy dog.
