The Perfect Pup, LLC

We took our dog, Maizy, to Perfect Pup for Family Dog I. She’s a six year old rescue who has never had any formal training. We were blown away at how quickly she learned using the techniques taught to us by Janice. Not only did she learn, she absolutely loved going to her school. She has a hesitant and sometimes nervous personality but she would be pulling us toward the door of Perfect Pup and did not stop wagging her tail the entire time she was there. She completely adored her teachers! I highly recommend Perfect Pup. Janice creates a comfortable environment and teaches with rewards and praise. She lets each individual dog learn at their own pace and according to their personalities. I would love to continue with Perfect Family Dog II when the time is right!

Janice and the Perfect Pup team form an exceptional community of knowledgeable and experienced trainers. We've been attending their classes twice a week with our fear-reactive puppy, who is afraid of other dogs. Janice's patience, kindness, and incredible support have been crucial in helping our puppy gain confidence and feel more at ease around other animals and people. She has thoroughly addressed all of our questions and tailored the training to meet our specific needs. We plan to continue our training with The Perfect Pup for the next several weeks, as the progress our puppy has made is significant, and we are excited to see him continue to improve. Janice has been such a blessing to my two gsd mixes and myself! She has extensive training and I love that she is always continuing her education. She's great at reading body language and explains what they mean and the why behind it. I've been to positive trainers before, but she's the first that uses the L.E.G.S. model, and it's made such a difference! She's given us invaluable tips and handouts for us to work on at home. She truly loves dogs and wants to make learning fun, the way it should be!

Very knowledgeable trainers. We attended basic obedience class with one of our fosters, it was very helpful! She had aggression and surprisingly the classes helped her cope through that. With lots of homework and practice, she was ready for her furever home and I couldn't be any more proud of her and her progress. The trainer handled all the dogs appropriately, carefully, and safely. We had different breeds and sizes in the class. He worked with each one individuality to make sure they get to their goals. We just signed up for another class and definitely looking forward to it!

I have been to various dog training places in CT in the past 20 years as a dog owner and Janis is one of the best. She will work with whatever the dog needs.
