The Paw Wash

I asked to not cut my dog’s hair too short and I wanted only half an inch trimmed and they still did it too short. When my husband said something about it at pick-up, the employee said she didn’t do it and held no accountability whatsoever, even though she was the one that we spoke to at drop off. She didn’t even say sorry or feel concerned. The hair looks really patchy and uneven as well. Very disappointed. We will not be coming back here. The first picture is what my dog looked like before.

This was my Shih Poo puppy, Charlie’s, first grooming experience- he turned 5 months old today. I want to start off by saying that the staff here is so incredibly kind, patient and gentle with the animals. I was lucky enough to meet the owner as well, and he’s a very nice guy. The groomer asked me what I was looking for, and I told her to go as short as possible- she executed that beautifully! I could hear my dog whimpering at one point with the clippers, but the groomer ever so kindly and gently calmed him down. He came out looking, and smelling, absolutely wonderful! I highly recommend this place- it was definitely a great experience! Very clean and cute shop as well! Before and after photos attached.

I took my dog to The Paw Wash in Oxford for hand stripping and was disappointed with the result. They charge as if they’re experienced in hand stripping, but the quality doesn’t match the price. My dog has been hand stripped every 4 weeks since we got him, so I know what proper results look like. True hand stripping should remove all dead undercoat and leave a tight, wiry coat that shows the dog’s natural texture. Instead, my dog came home with a thick, fluffy coat and I could still easily brush out dead hair afterward. The difference in quality is obvious, especially when you’ve seen consistent, skilled work before. Warming do not send your dogs here. He botched my dogs and didn’t take responsibility for it. I paid 600.00 for my dogs to be groomed like this. Extremely unprofessional. We contacted the owner and asked for a refund and he would not give us one. Unacceptable who sends dogs home looking like a child cut their hair.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about The Paw Wash! They do an AMAZING job every single time my dog Butters (Morkie) goes in for his full groom/teeth cleaning. He always gets so excited right when we pull in and realizes where we are, which is honestly such a relief, and tells me I chose the right groomer. I’m always immediately greeted when entering, they always say how wonderful he did upon picking him up, and I fully trust everyone there. I 100% recommend - I won’t go anywhere else!
