The Humane Society of Tampa Bay

Yesterday I found a stray cat wandering around my apartment complex and brought her to the humane society. From the moment I walked into the intake department, I was welcomed with such warmth and kindness by one of the receptionists up front. Her name is Jan, she was incredibly helpful and had the sweetest energy. I can tell that she truly loves what she does! Jan, thank you for all that you do and for being so kind and thoughtful. She named the cat Hilary and even showed me how I can check online to see when she’ll be available for adoption. Hilary is pregnant, so we truly got her to safety at the perfect time. I was scrolling through the Humane Society’s website at work one day — just casually looking at pups who needed homes, not expecting anything to come from it. Then I saw her. Delilah (formerly Dana). Something about her stopped me instantly. I couldn’t move past her picture. Reading her story and knowing she had already been returned several times before completely broke my heart. In that moment, I just knew she was meant to be part of my family — and that she deserved a forever home where she would never be left behind again. What started as a random scroll during a workday turned into finding a piece of my heart I didn’t even know was missing. Thank you to the Humane Society for helping us find each other. ❤️

Went here to adopt a puppy. We visited with a few and found our forever fur baby! Everyone here was so nice and very helpful through the whole process. It was also very clean and the kennels were big enough for the pups to be comfortable in. We got a wonderful pup from here. It was definitely meant to be. Will definitely comeback in the future to adopt another.

Incredible place doing God's work. Animals are vaccinated upon arrival and many need and deserve a loving home. Honored to volunteer st this establishment. The dogs brought me so much joy. Punkin is just so darn cute.

I went to meet 2 different dogs in hopes of finding the right one for me. In the process of meeting 1, a 3rd puppy locked eyes with me and I couldn’t resist and added her to the list. Once I met her, it was love at first site. She was the sweetest, calmest good girl and very timid. It felt like she chose me. Her name is Lyla and she has her forever home. Huge turn around from shelter to a family that loves her. Smart, goofy and lovable. The staff here were very friendly, very informative and patient. The place is clean, homey and welcoming.
