I can’t say enough good things about The Horse Shelter and the incredible care they provide. From my first conversation with Susan, it was clear that she and her team truly prioritize the well-being of every horse. I was in a difficult situation, and they stepped in with compassion, professionalism, and urgency, making the process as smooth as possible. Their dedication to the horses they take in is remarkable, and I’m deeply grateful for everything they did. The people there are very helpful and knowledgeable. And it was a pleasure to go there and see all the beautiful horses! But be for warned The washboard road going there is a nightmare... Drive something that can handle it!!! But worth the drive.

We always attend their open house where they present informal sessions and demos about their programs with the horses. And we also enjoy walking the trail to see all the horses in their care, nearly 100!

Great people doing a really good work here. It takes real passion to do something like this. I know the horses appreciate a new chance to thrive in a healthy and loving environment.

This place is amazing, they have about 70 horses on site and take excellent care of all of them. If you are looking to adopt a horse, donate, volunteer or just take a tour, I highly recommend it.
