Emily did an incredible job with my puppy in the Now & Later program. I’m honestly amazed at how well behaved she is now, and I finally feel like I understand how to handle her better. Emily has great communication skills and made me feel completely comfortable leaving my puppy in her care. You can tell she truly cares about the dogs she works with and is very dedicated to what she does. She answered all of my concerns (and my silly questions) and her advice has always been great. I’m so grateful for the experience and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a great dog trainer!

There isn’t enough room in this box that allows me to state how truly amazing Emily was/is. She trained our dog Georgia and truly felt like family. I’m a very anxious dog mom and being away from my dog seemed impossible but Emily was so communicative throughout the entire experience. We got daily updates and photos and videos and the best part was watching social media for more in depth updates on our Georgie girl! It was such a learning experience not just for Georgia but for us too! Would recommend 10x over. I am rarely impressed with businesses and this entire experience was so comforting, reassuring, results driven, fun, and so helpful for our baby girl! Thank you so much Emily!

We recently dropped our 10 month-old doodle off for a 3 week training session with Emily. First let me say that it was HARD to imagine life without our Oakley for 3 weeks! But she is sweet and smart and was ready for more intensive training that I was able to provide at this time. I am well versed with how to train and use all the “tools”, so I knew I could do the maintenance. We knew after talking with Emily that she was the perfect choice for us. We have the same philosophy regarding what is good or bad for our pups. Emily is kind, consistent and loving. We can't say enough good things about the work Emily Preston of The Home Grown Dog has done with our latest family member, Sadie, who is the most energetic Labrador retriever we've ever owned. Emily truly sees the world from a dog's point of view and works from that understanding to train her canine students to adapt successfully to life with humans. Our Sadie-girl spent time with Emily as a puppy to learn basic obedience skills and then returned a few months later for the adult portion of training, building on those basic skills and expanding them. We now can walk our dog with ease despite distractions and are having a lot more fun with her around the house, too---all thanks to Emily and The Home Grown Dog training programs.
