The Daily Dog

Donna is like the dog whisperer. I have a one-year-old Australian Shepherd/Lab mix rescue dog named Chance who is full of energy and sometimes mischief. I enrolled Chance in Donna's 3-week Board and Train program and couldn't be happier with the results. I noticed a difference after the first week in Chance's ability/willingness to follow commands. During the weekly training sessions at our house, Donna taught my husband and me how to reinforce what Chance had learned with her. She is so knowledgeable about canine behavior and helped us build our own confidence in teaching Chance desirable behavior and how to stop bad habits. My Harper Maple (9 mos corgi) was transformed by this training! We had previously done basic obedience training with another trainer, but were still having difficulty with recall, walking on leash and teaching a high energy/busy little dog to settle. Donna’s training methods helped teach Harper Maple to settle on her own, and seemed to create in her a desire to please and listen. Turns out, Harper wasn’t the problem! I was simply demanding too much too soon…and not communicating effectively, or identifying/rewarding good behavior enough. Donna is the most insightful dog trainer I have ever met. She cares passionately about connecting human owners with their dogs and creating a symbiotic, loyal, and trusting relationship. Her insights are keen and her analogies help us all to think a little bit differently about how we care for and train our dogs. The results of Donna‘s years of experience are second to none she’s also one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet and that is why she ends up with lifelong and repeat clients. We were desperate to find a trainer that our dog could not only train but board in a home environment. We got our golden retriever into trainer early on and then did the board and train option. It was the best decision and highly recommend! She is attentive, caring, loving and communicative through the whole process. You get updates daily when your dog is with her! She is responsive to all questions even when you are home and don’t know what to do! I can’t say enough great things about her and the way she trains. Our dog loves her and we feel so comfortable leaving him with her!

I wish I could give Donna Dunlop and the Daily Dog 10 stars!! We recently took a vacation, and we boarded our pup Sadie with Donna. Donna loved and cared for Sadie as if she were her own! Part of me believes that Sadie didn’t want to leave her after spending the week! It was so nice to know that our fur baby was in such good or should I say GREAT hands while we were away! Donna is experienced and more importantly, trustworthy! When Sadie was a puppy, we did the board/train program with Donna and the result was better than we expected. The best part is that 6 years later and the training sticks!! I am so happy to know that Donna is always an email or phone call away. I cannot recommend her services more highly!
