Temperance Animal Hospital

There are no words to express how genuine the staff is here. Had to go thru hardest day and put my dog Brutus down. He's not very nice but had his first ever great visit at a hospital. Everyone made him comfortable and treated him as family. No one was scared of him or treated him any kind of way other than with love and cookies. Thank you to all of you xoxo

One of the best veterinary facilities I've ever been to. My fiancè and I care for several cats, and unfortunately one of our little speed racers managed to dislocate his hip. After getting him right to our primary and checked, we were given a list of referrals for surgery, one being Temperance Animal Hospital. I am glad the other options didn't work out because they are AMAZING here. One of two places out of the long list of referrals that worked with us immediately, stayed in constant contact/communication with us, worked with our finances and made sure to get him in for surgery within less than 24 hours- a day before Thanksgiving! I took two of my cats to this place, was quoted over the phone 150-200 dollars for the both of them, total. That's doable. What wasn't, was arriving early, them taking us back, keeping us there for an hour and 30 minutes while actively seeing us and filling out paper work, just to actually tell us it will be 400 dollars. They worked with us and brought it down to 291, but just for a check up, and to get the cats shots. Still pretty steep, I'd say. But that's not all! On top of the way extra price than what they'd quoted us, they also expected 400 dollars PER cat to be NEUTERED. I obviously want what's best for my cats, and I would pay an arm and a leg to get them the care they need. But not when it's outrageously priced and unreasonably priced. My family has been taking our dogs here for years but I feel compelled to write a review after today’s visit. Ended up taking my dog to an urgent care last weekend due to some leg swelling, they told me there’s no injury, he likely has bone cancer and will need to be rescanned in 10 days. Much to my surprise when I brought him in to TAH today, our Dr showed me a visible fracture in the original xray taken at the urgent care and informed me to limit exercise/it will likely heal on its own. While I have felt in the past that some services are overpriced, today proved to me that they do care about their patients/try to do right by them. They could’ve easily done another xray for $$$ (like I was expecting) but instead they were honest and informed me of the other vets misread. Much appreciated

We had to have our dog of 12.5 years put down. It was terrible and painful. The staff were fantastic. We were let in through a side door, and left through that door. Through out the procedure they were gentle and kind. They did not rush us, and were treating our dog as their own. A few days later we recieved a sympathy card. They were gentle, kind, and thoughtful.
