I am a bit biased when it comes to Veterinarian Dr. Elyse Goldman since she has attended each and every pet our family has had since 1988 even before she established Tar River Veterinary hospital ( she was working with another veterinarian in some capacity out of college when we met). Many years later I still trust Tar River Veterinary to help me take care of my fur-bearing dependants which recently includes two new wee kitties. They are super kind to my older dog and the staff Dr. Goldman selects to be there have always shown patience, compassion, and intelligence. It's important to feel like the people who are chosen to care for your animals actually DO care because having pets makes us surrender. Have been going to Tar River since 1990. All my animals have been taken care of by Dr Goldman, she's a great Veterinarian. I recently found out that one of her staff passed away last year ... Eileen and she will be greatly missed as she was a very kind person to the animals and people that came in for help. Dr Goldman cares so much about animals care that she has been doing the low cost vaccines at the Franklin county animal shelter on some Saturdays for many many years. I thank her for her dedication!

I would NOT recommend. Here is an email I wrote to them about their misdiagnosis and lack of communication with a doctor. I brought Gus to your office on Monday because his left paw pad was red and he was limping. I was fearful that something might be stuck in his paw. A vet tech took him back to see the dr, who confirmed that they didn't see anything stuck in his paw pad and prescribed Rimadyl and Gabepentin for pain. By Thursday, Gus's paw pad was much worse - swollen and with a raw, reddish color. I called your office that evening for advice on what I should do and was told the vet had gone home for the evening. The person on the phone told me to either make an appt. for the next day or call back, and they would check with the doctor. I decided yesterday that I was not pleased

Dr. Goldman, Eileen and Shelby gave excellent care to our sweet Molly before she crossed over. When Molly had veterinary visits, she was excited to see her girls and get loved by them. I highly recommend Tar River Veterinary Hospital. The quality of care given is above and beyond. The cost is very reasonable.

I Got to my appointment at 10:45 went in the room was back there for an hour and 45 minutes I was the only one in the office they forgot about me when I went up front to see what the problem was I saw 4 fire trucks and 2 police cars in the parking lot every one was out the building but me and my 6 kittens they said that they had a sewage smell near by not very professional stay away from this place they didn't even apologize for there mistake want be back
