Sylacauga Animal Shelter

I just want to say the staff here has been so wonderful and helpful. They really deal with so much we cant even imagine and with little to no help! Please keep that in mind when you call to report a problem. They are ALWAYS willing to help but when you have lottle to no help and no cooperation from the public with spaying and neutering their dogs, the community IS the part of the problem and make their job that much harder! We have compassionate staff that are here to help but we need to help them as well! Thank you so much for all that you do to help the community with the epidemic of stray dogs!

These people care very much about the animals and seem to work very hard to give them the best environment possible. I hope to volunteer there after the first of the year once I have recovered from back surgery. I am Loving my new baby!!

Beyond rude, cut us off, vented about our call and hung up on us. We were trying to rehome a recent drop off that we had found on the side of the road on cr-29, he is a puppy and has lots of potential, being a dutch shepard. When they took our call, my wife politely asked if they were a no-kill shelter since it isn't explicitly stated on their website nor are they in the "no-kill certified" shelter/humane societys list. Lady on the phone took this personally and hijacked the conversation about how "in a perfect world" and prompty hung up on my wife before she could even ask anything else. It is honestly no wonder why this town has such a big problem with strays and dogs wandering because there is no actual humane society and the one that does exist seems to be more burdened by their own g

They are very sweet they are short staffed but still get a lot of stuff done and they got two stray fogs for us and they are amazing❤️❤️
