Sweet Dream House Rescue

I put in an application to surrender a dog, they called and very loudly told me I was screwed and good luck finding someone to take her. They were trying to be helpful but they were rude and discouraging. I would not give them a dog or even put in an application. A simple "we cant taker her" would've sufficed yet I was told get her fixed and that would solve all my problems. I was told that dogs dont hold trauma and that they live in the moment and dogs getting attacked by other dogs doesn't make them reactive. I was told to take my anxious reactive dog that was locked in a crate 24/7 before I got her to lock her in a crate and put her with my dogs. I understand it works but, this dog just shuts down. Don't expect any level of professionalism or detail if you put in an application and get rejected. Spent 30> minutes on my application only to get two poorly articulated "sentences". I understand the reason for my rejection, but baseline communication is appreciated.

The amount of negative reviews seem odd to me. I had a wonderful time working with them to adopt our dog. It was probably helpful we were looking for a specific mix (beagle/hound). We rescued a sweet little dog Sweet Dream House pulled from a shelter that was going to be euthanized. Thank god they saved her life. Everyone we worked with was extremely helpful, offering us help when needed. Dogs are not perfect, and they need time to adapt and get used to their new home. It took probably close to 4 months to say our new dog is completely adapted and we know how to deal with all her little quirks. Any rescue, especially non profits, deserves understanding and patience. These people are doing the best they can. I would recommend working with them.

You have to fill out an application to view what animals they have available. I want a certain kind of animal and why should I give someone all my information when I am just looking for a standard poodle. I give them all my information they do not have one, wasted my time

I was interested in adopting a dog from this rescue. I entered an adoption application but never heard back. I have been around dogs my whole life. I groomed for 15 years and know a lot about different breeds and their characteristics. I could have given the pup a good home. I have a fenced yard and have always given my dogs the love and care they need and deserve. I was unable to have children so they are my "kids". I went to PetSmart in Easgate to meet her but felt judged by the staff. I was told the pup would be too much to handle but they wanted it to go to someone with kids. A bit contradictory. They spoke very condescending and as if they were the only ones who had knowledge of dogs. I looked at a few of the other pets but everyone I looked at they came up with something that would n
