Sunny Sky's Animal Rescue

I adopted my sweet boy, Burt (formerly George) from Sunny Sky’s almost a month ago. I have adopted from many rescues over the years but this is my first time working with Sunny Sky’s. Without a doubt, Burt is the best socialized animal I have ever adopted. I know some of it comes down to a cat’s natural temperament, but it is clear socialization was a major focus for the wonderful foster he came from. Yes, the application process is long and in depth, but I think that just speaks volumes about this rescue and their commitment to ensuring every animal they adopt out gets the lifelong care and love they deserve. I wasted my time filling out a long application, I had pictures of my fenced in backyard, references, my vet info. They denied me because I work 8 hours a day and will be gone for 9 total. I wanted to adopt because a puppy wouldn’t work with that schedule, but it’s incredibly frustrating that I have everything a homeless dog could ask for, money, a house, lots of love to give, and I was denied from adopting one because like millions of other Americans that own a dog and work 8 hours a day, I have to be gone for 9 hours. Why make adopting so difficult? At this point it looks like I will have to shop at a breeder and leave these poor animals without a home, but what choice do they leave me with? I will try a few other places recommended in the reviews of this place before I go there, hopeful

I recently have worked with sunny sky’s animal rescue and rescued the sweetest, energetic, playful laguna beach and i could not be more ecstatic! working with them has been a great and smooth process they care about where there pets are going but are not over the top with anything ! i got to meet laguna beach first and get to play with him a bit before picking him up again to bring home forever, he has already had a blast going to different places and more to come!💘 they got him neutered and gave me the essentials for taking him home which i very appreciate!! thank you sunny sky’s animal rescue for giving me the best baby ever :-)

I have been very torn by my experience with Sunny Sky's. I don't want to leave a bad review because I appreciate the work being done to rescue animals, but at the same time, our rescue cat was not in the greatest condition when we adopted her. I am adding photos of picking her up at the shelter (the photo in the cage and the photo on the blanket) and then two photos now, a year later. Alia (formerly Rocky Horror) was underweight and had fleas, worms, ear mites, and an eye infection... Under this condition, she was rushed to be spayed the week we called to adopt her. It took several vet visits and some serious TLC to get her out of her shell. We adopted our cat, Cookie (previously known as Ma Kettle) from Sunny Sky's back in April. I really appreciated how thorough they were during the application process. I've dealt with previous rescues where it felt like they were just trying to get rid of the animals as quick as possible, and not caring about the wellbeing of those animals or the homes they were going into. Even if I think I'm a good home, I still want to be vetted by a rescue organization to ensure I'm the right fit for the animal I'm looking to adopt! The followed up with all my references, and it is clear that they deeply care about placing animals in the right homes and environment.
