I was impressed by how well the staff knew each animal and its quirks. We had recently lost our last dog. I feel strongly about honoring a lost pet by rescuing another. When I asked about dogs that were overlooked, I was shown Charlie. His size was the issue for him. He's a great big goofball who has brought so much joy to us. Without the shelter staff, it wouldn't have happened. There are many great pets at the shelter whose owners have passed away or gone to assisted living. This is a wonderful place to find your next pet. Just an FYI, there is one employee who is somewhat of a jerk, but everyone else is stellar.

It's just slightly annoying that an appt. is required but that's due mostly to my changing schedule. It was very cool though that an employee (Holly[or Hollie]) noticed us checking out the outside dogs and she invited us to take a spot that didn't show. She was super kind, super helpful and super eager to help the dogs find a home. Just as cute as can be. She is the best. Another gal helped also to put 2 dogs (Ziggy and Chewey) together in the yard to check compatibility. I'm sorry I don't recall her name but she was likewise really awesome. Overall tremendous staff experience. Seems like they genuinely care.

We saw their post for a 1 year old male Alaskan Malamute named Sparta. They arranged a time to meet him. They told us that his previous owner was a homeless person and that they wanted Sparta to go to someone that had had a Malamute before. Also, Sparta was an escape artist and shouldn't go to someone that already had a dog or cat. That they were looking for someone that could spend a lot of time with him. Well, we had an Alaskan Malamute before, and we had been looking for one for sometime. And our backyard is cinder block, and we are retired. We love the breed and Sparta is now a part of our family. We did changed his name to Eli. Thanks to the St. George Animal shelter. They made sure he had all his shots, was chipped, and that he was neutered.

The lady is very nice and friendly she seems adamant about her career and pursuing animal dog friends in the care for cats however I had adopted a cute little kitten from her she was getting over a sickness after surgery when I brought her home I had misplaced the paperwork so I wasn't able to reach out in time of being able to get her into a free clinic visit in regards to adopting her however when I finally came across the paperwork doing some cleaning it happened to be a week after the frame of the 30 days so I still was Able to finally reach out and talk to her in regards to what I am saying I just feel as though with the cat being sick and her overlooking the fact of the cat was sick when she adopted it I her questions are about whether or not if there was any abuse in the home or and

The staff is great! You do have to make an appointment to go see the pups. But they are usually pretty good about getting ya in. It took me awhile to find a forever pup. But we adopted Potter a few weeks ago and I have never been so happy with a dog. He is amazing. He staff was great with all the info at adoption. They made sure he was fixed and microchipped. Sent us home with a 35lb bag of food and a bunch of treats and a couple toys as well as a leash! I'm so grateful to have found my best friend there
