If leaving a zero was possible trust and believe it would be a zero we went in there today to surrender a dog who was dumped on us and the supposed “intake specialist” was a joke she was in the room less than 10 seconds my dog growled 1 time and she immediately said he’s dangerous and said they couldn’t take him yet they have dogs there who have bitten staff and even have bite records. She was swinging a leash when she walked in btw. I’ve never been treated with such disrespect and honestly if they have dogs who are significantly dangerous. I think they knew when we walked in there they were taking him. Which is fine it’s just disgusting and from now on I’ll take my business elsewhere

I love this place, they really have helped me and my puppies when times were hard. Thank you for the helping hand. And providing dog food for my Dogs. Thank you so much. God bless

Called to see what the cost of spay/neuter is they only help low income. And although we are not low income, government shutdown is not paying 1 of us, we cannot afford the 950 to 1200 to get our dog fixed. Not impressed with that. If you want less puppies then be willing to help all incomes.

In January of this year we had to make the gut-wrenching decision to put our sweet fur-baby down to rest, and the staff I encountered at the Spokane Humane Society were phenomenal! They were able to accommodate us on a Sunday, and they were SO patient with me while I was bawling hysterically. They wouldn’t allow me to be in the room while they put her down (it’s legally prohibited, from what I understood) but they did allow me to hold my baby while they sedated her so that she was never conscious of me not being there, and that was just as well. Thank you SO much for that, Amy! We chose to take her home and bury her under my favorite tree, and they brought her out discreetly wrapped in a little blanket. The staff here are obviously protective X compassionate to the animals housed here. The volunteer process is extremely thorough as well, with highly educational modules. Their cat areas are cozy and make interacting with/observing them easy. It's difficult to walk through the kennel, but the dogs, though stressed, are clearly cared for. Setting up a meet and greet with the dogs is easy; there is a room specifically for this purpose with a bench, a chair and a sink (and treats). We had a great time this year for the National Day of Mourning taking one of the pups out to the run to play in the snow. We highly recommend the Spokane humane Society as a place to give back to these innocent animals who are sadly and too often subject to our whims.
