I couldn't be happier with choosing Spire for my dogs bilateral luxating patella surgery. Dr Mcabee Is the most knowledgeable and caring pet orthopedic surgeon I have met. Him and his team took amazing care of my dog chili and they've been very caring and available during his aftercare as well. I'm very happy that he helped me decide to do both knees instead of one at a time.

My 9 year old mini Aussie (Iorek) tore his CCL and meniscus, and I was an emotional mess. I met with Dr McAbee on December 8th and my sweet boy, had surgery on December 12th, 2025. The entire Spire team was beyond amazing throughout the day and kept me updated. They took the best care of my boy while he was in their care. When they sent us home, they gave the wonderful instructions so I knew exactly what to do to continue the care. And then they called to check in multiple times during our first week post op. And then when we went in for our 2 week post op, they gave us great advice to continue progressing in the right direction. After learning that my dog Paisley was diagnosed with partial CCL tears in both legs, I was worried and emotional (started crying in the middle of the appointment,) and Dr. McAbee was nothing but compassionate, respectful and understanding. He explained every step of the TPLO procedure, recovery and prognosis, and performed bilateral TPLO surgery on Paisley in March. Dr. McAbee is super talented and super passionate about what he does. I went all over the state looking for someone to help my dog until I found him. Most of the other doctors recommended full knee replacements or way more invasive procedures. McAbee's arthroscopic approach was much lower impact, and has made a meaningful difference for our dog. 1 bazillion percent recommend Spire.

Between our two dogs, we have had numerous positive and not so positive experiences with various vets & specialists in Colorado. I can truly say that I was absolutely blown away by the professionalism, empathy, and level of service provided by Dr. McAbee and the fantastic staff at Spire. They provided thorough information and were very patient with my many questions during our consult.
