Special Paws Grooming

Due to my dog's behavioral issues, he needs to be by himself with no other distractions — and Special Paws checked every box I was looking for. Samantha was fantastic! She was incredibly thorough in asking all the right questions to understand Julian’s needs and how to best work with him. Julian is usually very wary of strangers, so I expected him to be a bit difficult during the first few appointments. Surprisingly, he took to Samantha right away and happily went along with her. She accomplished everything she said she would — and more. I was even sent a picture when the appointment was over. I’m beyond impressed and will definitely keep coming back.

Sam is amazing. Not just saying it, she always takes great care of my pup (Harry), and it's definitely not just good customer service. In other words, she genuinely loves all pups of all breeds and sizes, and it is very clear they all love her back because, as we know, our animals have the best judge of character. Sam does a great job bathing and grooming Harry and I never worry about leaving him in her care. Would definitely recommend.

Sam did an excellent job deshedding and grooming our 140 lb Berner Bacchus. They met for the first time today and Bacchus was excited and ‘chatty’. Sam was able to handle him well and I picked up a happy handsome well groomed boy. This is the second of our two dogs that Sam has groomed and pleased with both outcomes. Will definitely bring our dogs back to her. Highly recommend her services.

Samantha has such a gentle demeanor which is especially great for my dog who, while she loves people, can get anxious. Her patience with my pup was great. My dog loves grooming but doesn’t like her nails done and needs gentle coaxing. My pup came out great, exactly as I requested with different lengths and special requests for face, muzzle, body, legs, sanitary, and even paid special attention to her declaw. My dog came back relaxed and happy.

We’ve only been to this groomer once, and overall the grooming itself went fairly well. She handled my dog patiently and kept in contact throughout the appointment, which I appreciated. She wasn’t able to trim his nails because he was snippy, and instead of muzzling him briefly, she chose not to do them. Where the experience fell short was with scheduling afterward. My next appointment was rescheduled twice and then ultimately canceled a third time right before the holidays. While the reasons for rescheduling were valid, once the appointment was canceled there was no offer to rebook, prioritize a new date, or otherwise make it right—especially during a very busy time of year. Overall, the grooming itself was decent, but the lack of follow-up and reliability with scheduling made it diffic
