Adopter beware this place does not test for fecal diseases unless the pet is showing outward signs for a disease. When you take the pet home it is "as is". So we have adopted a great dog but the bad problem is that he has hookworm that he contracted while being at this facility. THe VET said it has been in his body for a while at his ONE week checkup. we have done everything we can to do over the last 6 weeks in treating this poor animal. We have spent over $500 on this adopted dog. We do not have a budget for hookworm.... do you?I went by the SPCA office in person to see if they could simply help with some of the medication that is needed to save this animal's life and they seem to be indifferent so don't let the flags or the smiles fool you they're not their help you... only help them
We just had a great experience adopting a dog from this location. They seem to be undergoing a massive remodel but it's still easy to find your way in/around. I loved that the dogs were in their own rooms and not cages so you could get to know them more easily/privately. If you bring a kid, the pup will stay on a leash. I didn't understand exactly how the process worked, so I'd recommend applying/reserving the pet online for a meeting if you are very interested in them. We became back up adopters for a dog that became available again and were able to do a "dress rehearsal" for a few days at our home to make sure he was a fit for our family & cats. Safe to say, Francis (previously Duckie) is fitting in perfectly and we love him so much. Everyone we met and talked to through this process wa
This place was clean, and the volunteers were so friendly! The adoption process was very quick, non-invasive, and fair. I adopted my bunny (then named Alvin) from here, his name is now Blanket!
Smooth experience. My daughter wanted a cat and we spent time visiting with many until she found the "one". We did paperwork and was able to take him home the same day.
Absolutely the best decision I’ve ever made. The staff were all so kind, patient, understanding and informative during my visit with all three kiddos. After we adopted him, we had a vet emergency and took him to the shelter. They were very quick to act and assist us with him. Tyson has been the best addition to our family.
