South Utah Valley Animal Shelter

I have been volunteering as a dog walker for about a month now and I am so impressed with this shelter! Like every shelter, of course there is a struggle to keep up with the demands of all the animals but I am beyond impressed with their dedication. The shelter workers clearly care about their work and making sure all the animals are comfortable. They do incredible work. All the dogs and cats are great to work with and the volunteering application process is super easy! Please consider volunteering! It is so so worth it and the animals appreciate it so much.

South Utah Valley Animal Shelter is a great place to find your next partner in life or add to your family! They do their best to make sure these animals get taken care of while in their care and advocate to find these guys a home. It's a good place to check out, and consider adoption and rescuing an animal who just wants a home like the rest of us. :) You can foster an animal for up to 2 weeks if you like also. Clean facility, kind and helpful staff.

I brought my little kids in November to find a dog. The workers were so helpful. We went down the busy stray alley and found Pebble, who wasn't barking. He let my five year old walk him outside. Filling out the paperwork was no trouble. They have a binder of information on each dog. They helped put towels in the car for the ride home. Now his name is Captain and he is sweet and social and the best first dog for our kids we could have asked for. Thank you!

I went in just to see what dogs they had and fell in love with Rumble. I am now his "person". The staff were all super nice and helpful. This was my first time at any shelter and the dogs seemed well cared for. My dog seems to be in great health (first vet visit for a wellness check is tomorrow morning) after being at the shelter for 1.5 months.

I adopted my dog from here. He is such a great dog, and I’m so grateful for everything the local shelters do to keep dogs safe and off the street! I try to volunteer here and walk dogs as often as I can. Reading through the one star reviews, it seems that most people have a fundamental misunderstanding of how county shelters work. You think the shelters are too dirty? They often have over 100 dogs with a limited staff. Volunteer to clean. You are confused why they didn’t roll out a red carpet and introduce you to all the dogs? People are in and out all day volunteering & looking, and they are often dealing with 100+ animals. It’s not going to be a pristine and perfect facility because, hello, it’s a shelter! They do the best they can with the resources they are provided and the materials
