This shelter and staff are so beyond caring for the animals that are unlucky enough to find themselves in a tough spot. They go above and beyond to make sure they’re all loved for the time they’re in shelter. I love volunteering my time here because the staff is just so dedicated to the care of the animals.

What a GREAT shelter & staff. I called ahead to ask a few questions about our new girl. The lady knew the dog so we’ll and helped up determine she was PERFECT for our little family. I was so impressed how much she cared about the animals in her care. You really can tell they care and are doing their best. The guy was equally as awesome. The meeting and adoption process was so easy and wow what a fun and pleasurable experience. Our girls is exactly as advertised (okay better than advertised). We feel so grateful for all of the hard work this shelter puts in so we could connect with our perfect fur child. Thank you for making our lives so much better! Thank you for saving these animals. Go adopt from these guys.

I have been volunteering at South Salt Lake for over a year now. The staff is incredible and truly care about the well-being of all their animals. The shelter is small and cleaned often. There are only 4 staff, and they are all so kind and willing to help. They were so compassionate when I had to put my childhood dog down and made the process so much easier. I found a stray in the area, and they took her and her puppies in immediately. They are quick to respond to emergencies, kind to visitors, and have great prices/services. Please if you are considering adopting, donating, or volunteering, give them a visit!

This place needs to get their act together! I was told that I was getting to adopt an animal at 4:30 PM and that he was going to be neutered the next day and then to Come pick him Up after 3 PM. I was told that nobody had time to see him and that there wasn’t really any interest in him. I was absolutely thrilled. I bought him a new leash and a harness and had Amazon overnight it. The next day rolls around and I’m pretty excited to pick up my dog, and I called them just to make sure that he was doing OK on his surgery and then they started back peddling Said that he might go to somebody else. Sherri Then accused me of being disrespectful by calling to check on him and because I bought a harness and leash for him. I had two staff members tell me the previous night that he was my dog And than

My boyfriend Zack adopted a puppy from this shelter a couple weeks ago and we had a great experience. The shelter staff is so nice and friendly, they sent us home with a bunch of toys, Bones, a harness and a leash. Sherri is wonderful and followed up with us afterward & they gave us a voucher to have him neutered. Everyone there truly cares about the animals and as someone who’s owned rescue dogs my entire life, it was by far the best shelter experience I’ve ever had. I’m glad Zack’s first dog came from here and we will continue supporting this shelter however we can.
