South Kingstown Animal Shelter (formerly SK Pound)

Sorry South Kingstown Animal Shelter this review is long overdue! Back in May a dog I walked and spent time with for work Ros was dropped off at the shelter because her owner was struggling to find a place to live. I understand why she had to make the extremely tough decision to drop Ros off, but there is a happy ending to this story and without the spectacular workers (I'm sad I can't remember their names and I didn't make this review back in May - Life got in the way) at South Kingstown Animal Shelter it wouldn't have happened. I stopped at the shelter 4 days (Thankfully she was there very shortly) a row to see Ros where they allowed me to spend time with her and walk her. They also allowed me to talk with the owner who decided to adopt her. It warmed my heart knowing she was getting ado

Adopted a dig from here. Awesome place, clean and comfy. Staff were so friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the visit, had no pressure in selecting a dog, or to adopt one. Process was easy to do. My Furaha is terrible sweet and I do love her dearly,

I needed help from the SK Shelter and they came through and went above and beyond. Ann Marie is one caring, kind, smart person, who has a special skill for helping people and their animals. She gets things done.

Conscientious, caring and friendly staff. They take the time to know the animals they are housing, and match pets to adopters with great care. They are also very knowledgeable about health concerns, testing and treatments for the animals. The facility is fairly new, designed to meet anticipated population sizes and needs, and is kept very clean. I have adopted cats from this facility twice; once last year, and once in 1991. I have visited a few times a year, and have introduced several friends to the shelter when they were looking to adopt. SK should be proud to host this excellent facility!

The South Kingstown Animal Shelter is one of the best and most caring shelters ever. Five years ago, I adopted my beloved cat, Isabella from them. She is a source of great joy and our home is her kingdom. Also, we recently had to surrender a puppy to them. It was a heartbreaking experience for us to do so but Ann Marie and her staff at the shelter were kind and compassionate. It is clear that the care of the animals given there is 5 star and that finding the best match for the dog/cat, etc and new owner is their goal.
