Simpawtico Dog Training

They are super helpful! I have a 30lb Miniature Pinscher rescue who has had issues with aggression. I signed up for the dog training classes where Ian would come to my apartment. I felt this was invaluable because it allowed him to witness first hand how she acts when she is in a comfortable environment. The growth I have witnessed in my dog has been incredible. She is able to meet new people and be in new environments without having nearly the same behavioral issues. She is still nervous but not being outwardly aggressive which is a huge win. Ian sent a note summary of each training session along with lots of readings further explaining trainings and tips. He was also accessible for updates and questions via email. I was impressed with the free materials Simpawtico offers in written and video formats. It was useful to have something to reference with while we waited for the puppy 1 class to start. The group setting helped our pup (and us) gain comfort and confidence when interacting with other dogs. We have a chesapeake bay retriever, a breed often noted for their independent thinking. So i was reluctant to shift from the familiar old school to new school training techniques. After completing the classes, I can see that it also works. Our pup is more patient and we have the tools to keep building on our sucess. We look forward to the puppy 2 classes.

We have worked with a handful of trainers over the years and Simpawtico is hands down the best! The training approaches are easy to pick up, take the unique situations into account and Ian's ability to read the situation makes sure the outcomes are exactly what's expected. We have had some challenging dogs, including one who was extremely reactive and also had a bite history. It's no exaggeration to say that Ian's work not only saved our dog's life but also made every day with him amazing! It's nice to work with a trainer who understands not only what the dog is going through but the people as well. Ian gives me clear understanding of the theory and practice towards our goal of rewiring my dog's reactions to encountering other dogs. And we work on it seriously with studio and field practice.I feel supported in this work and encouraged to be active in the process, even though I am finding it challenging. My first experience with a personal dog trainer if pertinent. I have a 6 month old male Doberman that I’ve been training the basics. I used videos I found on YouTube and bought a book specific on Dobermans. The scheduling was seamless and the preparation provided was great. I found Helen to be very personable and engaging. She asked the right questions and I feel she provided great tools to help me accomplish my goal. A well behaved large powerful dog. She was always on point. She likes her ‘job’ you can tell.
