Didn't answer the phone 3 different times and claimed they had a day full of appointments but there was no non-employees there besides us for the entire hour we were there. The door was locked when we arrived at our appointment time. Animals they claim have been in for a week still have fleas on them. Couldn't find prior vet records for a cat we just had in 3 times in the last 2 months at the end of their life and told us we couldn't adopt because they couldn't find records. Specifically immunization records. Smells like they have not mopped the floors in there for days if not weeks. They claim they are so short staffed but 2 dudes are each sitting in an office doing who knows what. They seem to want to profit over animals more than care for them.
They were great really caring people
Horrible experience with a dog that got hit on I-50. Dog was hit a couple cars ahead and then dragged himself off road. I pulled over to check on the dog and called for the dog rescue to come. His back leg was severely injured and I myself could not take the dog due to the car completely full. It was pouring and cold, I put a blanket on the dog and waited an hour for someone to come and no one showed up. The dog died after an hour and then I get a call that they could not find the exit and mile marker 80.4 after I called them three times and told them. It was my first time driving through the state and just felt like they really just didn’t want to deal with it. Really disappointed of how it all happened.
I contacted animal control about a cat problem we have on our street, I was told to contact PAWS, and I did, and nothing was still done to fix the problem. If animal control and PAWS are not going to do their job, then why does Sikeston have them? They are wasting taxpayers' money that could be used be used for something else. My solution to the cat problem is to contact PETA or the Human Society of Missouri.
Very friendly and had a lot of dogs up for adoption. It was also a very sad site seeing them all locks up in cages like there in jail. I wish I could take them all home cuz I would.
