Shewmaker Animal Hospital

So this morning, I woke up to my dog, having severe diarrhea, almost a liquid and full of blood So I got on this Google site to see who was open today because I knew my normal vet was not The Shewmaker animal Hospital was open So I waited until 8 o’clock and went straight there I told them Lola’s symptoms and they got her right in They did some tests And the whole time They handled Lola they were very kind and gentle The test that I was worried about both came back negative, and we ended up with an antibiotic and some other meds To take home Thankfully From the young lady at the front desk to the vet tech and the veterinarian himself, everyone was amazing Before I had Taken Lola in I had looked at some reviews and there were some pretty bad ones, but there were also some pretty good ones S

My babies were cleared and given their health certificates. Happy for that...3 down, 3 more to go. Dr Shewmaker has taken care of all of my dogs for the past 2 years. Very reasonable, open on Saturday and works you into the schedule most times the day of. Staff is pleasant and ready to assist for those of you that can't watch your fur baby get a shot... Thank you guys so much!!!

I've taken my dog in a few times when I can't get into her regular vet in Ave Maria (they are also great but not always available). If it weren't for their amazing Saturday walk-in availability, I would've had to wait a whole week to bring her in to her usual vet that is much closer for me. I've had a great experience each time and they have taken great care of my dog. Both Dr. Shewmaker and his son, Dr. JL Shewmaker, are knowledgeable and provide excellent care for my girl. The vet tech's are compassionate and helpful in calming my dogs anxiety while at the vet. The facility isn't modern or updated, but if you can look past that I would definitely recommend. Despite the appearance, each time I've been in I have seen the staff disinfect the surfaces each time before bringing my dog in. T

They had a last minute appointment available for our dog on a Saturday. It was super important to get in then or early the next week and they made it happen. Wonderful staff and the Doc is knowledgeable and helped me with choices for heartworm preventative medicines and testing, a strained knee and an inflammation issue for my dog. Thank you so much!

We use this vet for all our horses and puppies ! Doc never turned anything our ranch brought him and I’m thankful his family embraces us the same ! Mustangs and All :)
