Long review coming but worth the read: We are from out of town and needed to get our puppy his 2nd dose of vaccines. We didn’t want to do it ourselves so we called a very nearby vet office and they said “we can’t give him a check-up but we can give him his shots” so we planned to do that. Day of the appt, I accidentally entered the wrong vet office into the maps (this office) and rolled up thinking they were ready for us LOL which they weren’t. So here’s the review! This place is excellent!! The vet was just driving away and he came back to see our pup and give him his checkup + shots. They don’t usually do that but I think we were just as confused as they were and we are from out of town so we had no idea where we even were, they helped us out and we are so grateful. We have an older cat named Hannah and Shasta Valley veterinary has been Taking care of her all these years. We recently had to take her in and have things looked over. The doctor and his staff are absolutely wonderful and have been all these years. We need to thank them very much. She is doing great thanks to Shasta Valley veterinary.

I had to take my dog in for a swollen eye on basically an emergency call. Dr. Ballestin was super friendly and fast. The whole visit was cheap including getting my dogs rabies shots done. I will definitely be going back to this vet.

I have worked with high-drive working dogs for Gov't Agencies for over 40 years (gulp). Every, EVERY client, acquaintance, and friend have been consistent over several years regarding this vet. While I have abiding respect for Doc, his wife has been CONSISTENTLY derogatory, vitriolic and verbose. She consistently mistreated clients and places her entitlement before the companion animal. Doc is, apparently, unable or unwilling to address this. Had an appointment today for my older dog. Doc said he could see her. His wife said, "no!". She entered the wrong date...Tuesday 28th. I Said, "no", Wednesday the 28th. She said I was "yelling" at her. Wasn't. Wife was too busy throwing rocks at me. I left the office to end contention. Have been taking our PomChi here for 16 years. They are kind and very accommodating. Dr. Ballestin has been very patient and thorough while trying to find solutions to a chronic autoimmune condition she has. Additionally he has performed two surgical procedures on her tiny little leg with excellent results. I dread his retirement which I fear is fast approaching.
