Shallowford Animal Hospital

I love shallowford animal hospital. It took us going to 3 different vets to finally find dr eads and shallowford. They truly care about our Saint berdoodle, hutch! Hutch got neutered Dec 11 and at a different vet and developed complications that led to a hematoma that ruptured. During this time we took hutch back to the original vet and they did not do anything prior to it rupturing which led us to have to take him to an emergency vet for another surgery. He is now doing great. We decided to take him to shallowford to get his surgical sight checked and they examined him fully. Dr Eads knows his stuff and Hutch loved him! The staff was great. They welcomed us and made Susie very comfortable and took great care of her. All my questions were answered, and I feel I can call for more advice if needed as a first time pet owner. The cost was a little much, but guess that is the price to pay these days.

I have a pit Boxer mix, and ever since I have had him, he has always been terrified vets. Dr. Eads took his time, got on Jack level, and soothed him before he did anything else. After everything was done, I have never seen my dog go to the person who poked, pricked and well did a full exam on him, lay on their lap after with his tail wagging and calm. I highly recommend them.

I have been a resident of North Carolina for nearly two years, after moving from Florida and having an amazing veterinary doctor and staff there, I was disappointed to find the veterinary places here in North Carolina lacking. I visited three different vets before finding Shallowford Animal Hospital. Not only do Dr. Eads and his staff care about the animal that they are checking and taking care of, they also care about the person. In working with dogs and horses all my life, making sure that the person that owns that animal understands and feels comfortable with the diagnosis and the care provided is critical. Very knowledgeable , very helpful, very good at what they do. We wished we would have gotten pet insurance when the dogs were puppy’s. If you love and care for your dogs like we do, you’ll pay for the health of your pets. I just feel bad for the pet owners that can’t come up with thousands of dollars to keep them alive . We will think twice about having any more pets after these two are gone.
