SHAH is a gift to me. I have worked in animal welfare for 15 years and have always struggled to find vets that I trusted with my behaviorally challenged pets, to actually practice FEAR FREE. Dr W and his entire team are incredible with my highly reactive and fearful dog. They are also always so caring and respond so quickly to my helicopter mom fears, & they are always empathetic and patient with me. Since they are still privately owned, they are also the most affordable private practice I have ever tried. I cannot recommend them enough and have referred MANY friends to them for these reasons.

We have been going to Shaker Heights Animal Hospital for 6 years ever since we first moved to Cleveland from Seattle. We had no idea where to take our sweet pets but we hit the jackpot when we landed at Shaker Heights Animal Hospital. The vets and the vet techs are like family to us and they truly love our pets and much as we do!!! One of our cats was very ill with an unknown illness and they were able to troubleshoot and get him back to health in no time. I highly recommend going here!!! I love love love my vet. They helped us say goodbye to our bestfriend of 10 years and 2 months later they gave us an overjoyed welcome to our new puppy on her first visit to the vet. After getting to lick cheese and many many cuddles, Juno left loving the vet. And their new location is so well designed and beautiful. Shaker Heights Animal Hospital were angels. We had to have 4 adults get our dog out of the car on a stretcher and they were so kind and thoughtful and considerate. They were professional and empathetic. We had to put our dog down and we felt respected and were never rushed or pushed into anything. We will be forever grateful.

I have been going to Shaker Animal Hospital for about 8 years now and lately I have been seeing them deteriorate as it comes to really paying attention to the needs of my senior dog. First of all I received an email to make an appointment for her Vaccinations (which I did). When I got there, this was just for shots and not to actually see a Dr. for her wellness checkup - that would take place less than 60 days later. So I had to pay for 2 visits instead of the convenience of doing it all in 1 visit. That was new and felt a bit shady (I let them know this as well). Then when I go back for her wellness check, they asked for a urine sample. I take the urine sample back and they wanted to charge me for the labs for the urine sample (which I paid for during that second visit already). The woman

CASUAL TREATMENT After bringing my dog in twice to Shaker this past year for specific health concerns, I noted the lack of energy brought to my pet's examination. A casual, weak attention brought by Dr. Welsh. First, I had concerns from the sudden eruption of scab like blemishes on her skin. Dr. Welsh simply parted her fur to make a cursory inspection from a two foot distance, and then declared that they were all warts. He offered no reasons as to why warts might erupt at the same time, or if they might indicate any underlying issues. He made no effort to inform me--even for reassurance He did not care to view the scabs with a magnifying glass to determine if they even had a signature texture of warts.
