I LOVE this place ❤️ 💕 I have been coming here every year since 1998 and just can not say enough about how the staff and supporters of Service Dogs for America are changing people's with difficulties in life, lives. Their dedication and love of what they do to get these Dogs ready for all thegoes above and beyond 🙌 ❤️ 👏 I urge anyone who is able to call them and set up a visitation with them, and more importantly, if you are able to support them financially, that would also help change people's lives Had an awesome day this past Saturday, October 6th. It was the annual fall cleanup. Thank you, too, all of the volunteers that came out to help. I hope everyone enjoyed the steak and potatoes served up by the Fargo Roamers 4x4 Lions club 😋 Remember that the first Saturday in May, there will

I spent over two years applying for a service dog here. They do not make the application process easy. They will not tell you all the forms needed all at once. They will let you know month by month what else you need to send them, and then give you a deadline for it that can be extremely close to the time you receive the letter from them in the mail. They need all forms sent to them by mail only, which alone was extremely challenging. About a year into the process I asked them if in all honesty they believe I will be accepted to recieve a service dog from them. The lady who I was in touch with said based off of everything she sees, there is no reason why I would be denied, I'm a perfect candidate, so I persevered. In the end of the two year ordeal, they had a medical board meeting where th

Some of the requirements for getting a dog for PTSD are incredibly ableist. I can't have an official diagnosis of autism, a part of me that barely affects my quality of life, and still be allowed a service dog for an unrelated condition, but a different neurodevelopmental disorder I have documented that has made my life hell is perfectly fine, I guess. It's just discrimination. The woman I talked to couldn't even give me an actual reason for why they deny someone purely for being autistic. After all this I wouldn't go to this place for a service dog if it was free, let alone for the $25K price tag.

Spoke to their “executive director” who can’t be bothered to give her name. Was referred to these people by both an attorney and a neurologist. Asked about definitions regarding a PTSD service dog - not a “support animal” - for a combat veteran with a twenty year history of DISABILITY from PTSD in Desert Storm. The woman was rude, cut me off repeatedly, could not answer a simple question without repeatedly contradicting herself, and then got mad and asked if I was in South Dakota. Seriously, Lady??? Your organization’s title specifically states “FOR AMERICA,” who cares where I’m calling you from. Nutjobs. I’ll donate my $40K to someone who isn’t such a giant KAREN.

This was a very nice kind and helpful site I would highly recommend if you are wanting a service dog. Though the wait time is awhile for a dog that is expected for many websites.
