Seminole County Parrot Rescue and Sanctuary

I have been a volunteer here for over 3 years and Ellen and Darien do a great job giving the birds a new lease on life. They ensure that the birds being adopted are going to a good home and make sure the prospective paronts are well informed on how to safely handle their new bird, and what their needs are. I adopted a red lored Amazon and she is the sweetest bird. Highly recommend them.

Found an escaped/abandoned dove in the neighborhood, nobody claimed it. Seminole County Parrot Rescue was kind enough to take him in. He now has a huge walk in cage with other pigeons. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Everything was clean, they were kind enough to let me see the parrots, too. All the birds looked clean, happy, and healthy. This is a phenomenal rescue. They even contacted me several days later to let me know the dove is settling in well. If you are a bird person, you will not regret adopting from them.

Great people. I didn't adopt a bird from them. I called them a couple days later looking for a missing part for my cage and generously offered me an entire cage! No my buddy has cages for 2 rooms. They survive on donations, so please return their generosity.

My mom passed away in January she had several pets and I couldn’t keep all of them. I was beside myself as to what to do. By God’s grace I found Ellen and was able to surrender one of my mom’s birds to her. I was crying all week leading up to the drop off. I questioned my decision over and over. I knew I had no choice. We pulled up to the beautiful inviting Sanctuary and I was greeted by a big beautiful lab. He brought me a stick to throw. I also saw gorgeous monarch butterflies all around me. I felt better already. The sanctuary itself is immaculate and you can tell that the birds are well cared for. I know my moms bird Mrs. Beasley was scared but Ellen greeted her with extra care. I have never given up on an animal in my entire life, even though it wasn’t my fault it was still a very hum

What an amazing place. Run by an amazing woman. If you want a bird in your life this is the place to go. There is a great variety and you can't beat the adoption fees. We got our beautiful baby there and we are so in love with her. Please go and check it out.
