Thank you Second Chance Stables. We had been searching for another trail horse since losing our Dragon in May. We searched many ads and talked to individuals selling their horses and nothing was clicking. We spoke to Melanie and we gave her a list of horses we would like to see when we came to her facility. She was forthcoming with what she knew about each horse we asked about. She asked us questions, we told her what we were looking for and she matched us with the perfect horse for us (which was not the one we originally thought would work). She is a little younger than we thought we wanted but Haven's personality is exactly what we were looking for. My wife and I have had the pleasure of purchasing a horse from Melanie and Second Chance Stables. Melanie was honest and made sure he was the perfect fit for our family. We actually came out a couple of times to meet and ride him. Melanie was very knowledgeable about him and even helped ensure we got his vet records and understood everything he had been through (he was initially rescued from the kill pen). We can not say enough good things about Melanie and Second Chance Stables.

Highly advise a vet check before purchasing any horse from this “rescue”. Two days after bringing my horse home she had thick yellow nasal discharge, fever of 101.5 and could not stop coughing. Called my vet out and she is being tested for strangles. My vet knows of this facility and said it is common for horses that come from second chance to develop this because she does not correctly quarantine her horses. I was told before picking the horse up I would have vaccination records emailed to me, picked the horse up asked again for vet records and was told she would send them to me that night. I have sent her multiple text messages about records and still have yet to see them. I purchased my horse a week ago and already am close to $1,000 in vet bills for a disease that was transmitted from

Maloney was really nice. I purchased a horse from her. My trailer driver was a popop and we had 4 hour layover Chesapeake bay Tunnel wind restrictions. We where like 4 hours late. Been on the road 16 hours and are no where near home. Guess will be a all nighter. But I got short cake. Absolutly beautiful. Thank you

Wonderful family doing God’s work at this rescue. They were so honest, helpful and kind during our horse adoption process. Kudos to them for saving countless lives.
