Second Chance For Animals

Our family has adopted at least 6 pets from the Franklin Animal Shelter that is supported by Second Chance for Animals. Their efforts have helped the Franklin Shelter to be one of the nicest and well supplied shelters in the area and helped keep our adoptions extremely affordable. We make sure to donate pet food, news papers, and other supplies when we can to help out. Great work!

On August 21,2020 we adopted our Chiweenie from there. That's the best thing I can say though. It was absolutely filthy and the desks had papers stacked to the ceiling everywhere. Somewhere under it all was an office I assume. It smelled horrible in there and there was feces in her cage. We were only in a very very tight are to meet her. We named our girl Luna and learned she was a Covid rescue around 1-2 years old and aggressive. Her first human mom had died of Covid and the pup was left in a house with an elderly person with Alzheimer's. I had worked with other aggressive dogs in the past like my Pinchahuahua who I had just lost. Luna is not aggressive to us at all but she is our mini guard dog. They have a donation place outside of the shelter for food that was literally overflowing. I'

We adopted our cat from Second Chance for Animals. They are kind, professional, and prompt. Our cat is a love, and we are very happy to have her as part of our family. We would adopt from this organization again in a heart beat.

I am a volunteer at the shelter, walking dogs and helping with getting cats adopted. Everyone is very caring of the animals, from the town's Animal Control officer, Kati, to all the volunteers.
