Second Chance Canine Adoption Shelter

We had a wonderful experience working with the staff and volunteers to adopt our girl. The whole team was so encouraging and supportive through the process. It can take a little time to work with a shy dog but it's so worth it! They care so much about the dogs and really work to make positive matches. We are so grateful to the entire team and for our sweet girl!

What can I say. What a great organization in so many ways. My wife and I are fostering a dog that was found running around Syracuse. No tags or cell phone and clearly no money for an Uber. She's a sweetheart. We've been dealing with Georgette, Kim, and Ashley and all have been so thoughtful, helpful, and diligent in helping us find a home for our wanderer. The facility is no longer housing dogs in the building and is now using foster homes since covid. That said, they do meet people at the facility for meetings, caring for the dogs, etc. They really genuinely care for both the dogs, the potential adopters, and the foster parents. Great communication and planning. They seem really on top of everything. It's a tightly run ship. They've made this really easy for us. They are super diligen

Finally, a rescue that’s committed to caring for the homeless dogs in our own community. I had a wonderful experience adopting my pittie from Second Chance. Everyone involved was knowledgeable, kind, and patient. They are genuinely focused on making the right match for dogs and families, and the facility is inviting, clean, and safe. Just the best experience. ❤️

Great interactions with some of the women who keep this organization running. It's obvious they're very knowledgeable about dog behavior and really care about finding the right homes and families for the canines in their care. I was also in a unique situation and needed help with a dog recently. They didn't hesitate to talk with me, listen and offer their assistant when other places simple told me they couldn't help me.
