San Diego Cat Fanciers

This was my first cat show. I was not sure what to expect. I had seen the dog and cat shows on tv and this was very similar to what they depicted. The tickets were way cheap $7 with coupon but was uninformed online there was a $15 parking ticket to attend. Not a big deal but definitely a last minute suprise. Thank god they took credit cards at the gate. Once inside I was transported to a different reality. The people who were showing their cats for competition were very competitive. I had no idea this was like tantrums & tiaras until it was too late. These competitors were fierce. They had bibs on their cats so when they ate their fur wouldn't be soiled. They had built habitats for them during the show, they had colossal posters of their cats acting as if it were their headshots for con

We visited the annual San Diego cat show. We are glad to have done it once, but I don't think we would return in future years. Things are a little hectic and cramped, and it wasn't that easy to figure out what is going on with the show cats and so forth. There were relatively few of the kitty enclosures that you could actually look into and see the cat within. Also, the $2 coupon seemed to be a little bit of a scam. The discounted price appeared to be the same as the price that was posted right at the ticket window.

What a shame that people would review the last cat show still active in San Diego County so poorly. This is actually one of the best cast shows in the country, folks. I've exhibited cats all over the US and most shows have maybe half the exhibitors and one- fourth the vendors of this show. So go, check out the beautiful purebred kitties, buy some cat toys, watch some judging and enjoy what is sadly a dying activity, as breeding and showing cats is an expensive hobby, that is both exhilarating and heartbreaking. Went on Saturday. Lots of people and merchandise sellers. I was looking for Ragdolls. Of all the people showing them there was only one actual cat. Very disappointing.

Love this club and they fo such a greasy job putting shows on.
