Sallisaw Animal Shelter

The girl at the front (I’m so sorry I don’t remember your name) waited for me for a good 30 minutes outside. Very friendly. She does everything she can to find these animals homes. Seeing her dedication was truly the highlight of my visit.

Never will I ever take another dog here to have them put to sleep. This was the hardest thing i’ve ever had to do and the experience just made it so much worse. They give your fur baby the first shot in the lobby so if there’s people there, there will be no privacy you won’t have a moment with your baby, it’s going to be their last moments of life. be prepared to have someone in the room while you are saying your last goodbyes. i’m a 17 year old and truly hurt. no one should have to watch their baby get the first shot in a public space. overall if I could take back time I would have taken her somewhere else.

I got my baby girl Willow from them. They spayed her, give her all the shots she needed, gave her fle and tic prevention , wormed her for me, and even chipped her for me. My Willow is the most gentle and lovable, love bug. Not to mention the people that work there ARE SIMPLY AMAZING! If you're looking to adopt a dog this is the place to go!

I gave a three because I feel that the male person was not nice to my dieing cat.I had her in my lap and he tried to pick her up by her neck.She was already in a lot of pain. I was not allowed to go with her while she was being put down.Everyday I think about this person and I wonder if he just threw her down on the table too.If I had known I would of took her to a different place. The lady was very nice and caring.

Vickie is awesome! She is kind, patient, and very helpful. She has an extreme amount of patience with people and love for animals! Our shelter currently houses dogs until they're adopted but is working on a small space for cats. I am glad that we have this resource in our community!
