Rum River Veterinary Clinic

First and foremost, I want to say thank you to the whole team at the Rum River Vet Clinic for being so wonderful and caring. A special shout out to Dr. Tony and Beth for taking such great care of our kitty Chubbs during our visits in his last few months with us. I think there are a few things most pet parents worry about when deciding on where to take their babies; quality of care, costs, and whether or not we are being taken advantage of/ripped off. Our experience here gives me confidence to not only continue to bring our other babies here but to also recommend this clinic to others who may be looking for veterinary care. Words cannot explain how grateful I am. My Odie kitty boy was on death's door. He did not have long left. Some sort of major intestinal infection that was tormenting him for weeks. We struggled with at home methods for a bit and then turned to Rum River Vet. Dr. Heidi and Dr. Tonies (sorry if I got the spelling wrong) and their respective teams and assistants took great care of him over the course of a few visits and thorough detailed testing, they uncovered an affordable treatment method that worked. Odie is only 2 years old and has no business dying. And thankfully Rum River Vet was able to convince him of this. I'm pretty sure he's making a full recovery. It's a night and day difference from before. We're still at the tail end, but he's eating and pooping and he's not puking anymore!

Nice and friendly people. But treatment plans and diagnosises leave much to be desired. Brought a 18 year old elderly cat in that wasn't eating, started giving me a discussion about putting her down. Spit balled some ideas off the vet but mostly he said nothing could be done. After using first principles and previous test data I got from there I was able to extrapolate my own treatment plan and now she's back to mostly baseline eating and stronger than she's been for months. Use them for lab results and other eyes, but you have to do the doctoring yourself for the most part. Update: Was able to extend my cats life around a month longer while it still being quality, had to put her down in the end. To put it simply, all the staff at the Rum River Vet Clinic care. They are some of the most compassionate, knowledgeable, and empathetic people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Our cat, Sadie has a chronic illness and bad luck - something always seems to come up, but the veterinary team, are beyond helpful and supportive. Every aspect of our experiences at this clinic have been exceptional. The front desk staff are always warm and inviting, the vet techs are caring and competent. Dr. Angle and Dr. Kuebelbeck (the two veterinarians we’ve had the most contact with) are phenomenal! Not once have we felt rushed during a visit or when calling for advice. My ex and I share two great dogs and around 2 years ago we decided to make a shift in Veterinary Care because our veterinarian at the time had sold his business and the feeling was gone, the place seemed more about money then care. At the time I lived in Apple Valley and the vet was in Ham Lake that's how great they were I would make the trip couple times a year. So when Trudy Lu develop kidney stones we were looking for another vet. We researched by price and started with the lowest and worked our way up until we came across Rum River.
