Roxie's Place Cat Rescue

I volunteer weekends at Roxie's Place Cat Rescue, and I can't say enough good things about this wonderful no-kill sanctuary! Mari, the owner, pours her heart into every aspect of caring for the cats. She and her husband personally cover a huge portion of the expenses beyond donations, ensuring these cats have everything they need. The facility is a true haven—several spacious, window-filled rooms where the cats roam freely instead of being confined to cages. They're surrounded by cat trees, beds, toys, and plenty of litter boxes. Fresh food and water are provided daily, litter boxes and the entire space are cleaned every day, and any cat needing medication or vet care gets it promptly. We applied for a cat, they called us to say we'd been approved and could come meet the cat. We got there and the cat looked NOTHING like the picture on PetFinder. She was super thin & frail looking with scabs on her lower eyelids, but on PetFinder she's plump. I asked what was wrong & they said she had a bunch of teeth pulled for some dental issues & lost weight cuz she couldn't eat for a while. Her health issue isn't on the PetFinder profile and I asked if there were any other issues they failed to disclose. She said no and that all pets see a vet for a checkup once adopted before they get sent home. So I will have confirmation she's healthy when I pick her up if I choose to proceed with adoption. I couldn’t get the cat I wanted because I called this owner and asked her to clarify #10 & #13.. sometimes when I read things even if they are simple I don’t always understand… I only called and asked if she can explain it to me and she verbatim told me “you know what this isn’t going to work.” I waited over a week for this cat! I thought she forgot about me! She said she’d let us know when the vet appointment was a never did. Yesterday she said we can pick him up today at 1pm at 10:23 she sent me the contract our conversation lasted all of 5 minutes before she lied saying someone’s one is at her door and brushing up. 30 mins later she called back and agin said “no one has ever asked me about the contract, so this is too much drama and I don’t feel comfortable selling the cat…” I am so hea

We adopted a few cats from Roxie's place & we couldn't be happier. The owner & volunteers are lovely people who really care about their cats. We were able to spend time in the free roaming environment which really helps see all the different personalities. I highly recommend them!

Very disappointed in this Roxies cat rescure. They denied my adoption of Murphy with out a reason why. They wasted my time . Don't let them waste your time.
