Had to take a pup I was watching here to get her allergy shots on 9/3. I was a little early for the appointment but they didn't mind. Just had to wait for a little bit for a room to be available (but I didn't mind the wait!) Everyone was super welcoming and you can tell from everyone who works there they enjoy working with animals. They even greeted and complimented how adorable the pup I was watching was! They have free snacks (chips, pretzels, and fruit snacks) and bottled water while you wait (or for a couple dollars some candy) There is plenty of seating. What I also like is they have a light on the desk to let you know if someone is saying goodbye to a friend/companion (wasn't on when I went but that is a great and caring touch) We only had to wait maybe 10 minutes for a room. I brought my dog, Arthur, in for extreme lethargy. He just wasn’t acting like himself. The front desk staff was fantastic and very accommodating. They were able to get us in first thing the next morning, and Dr. Eric was fantastic. He took his time with both Arthur and me, explaining everything clearly and making sure we understood what was going on and how he planned to treat Arthur’s symptoms. What impressed me most was that Dr. Eric personally called two days later to follow up and see how Arthur was doing on the prescribed medication. Doctors and Vets just don't do that anymore! It was a really nice personal touch. Thank you to the entire staff at Rondout Valley, I’ll definitely be bringing all of my pets here from now on!

I really can’t say enough good things about Roundout Valley Vet!! They’ve taken such good care of my dogs, are always running on time, and are very easy to get in contact with via phone. The vets I’ve worked with are thorough and warm, and always seem to have time to answer any questions I have. I will say losing my pup was incredibly hard, but they were so kind and calming, even sending us a condolence card in the mail- a small gesture that meant the world. For surgeries, they don’t bring you in for unnecessary apts but do take the time to call and check on your pet the next day. Reception always remembers and takes the time to pet my pup and greet me kindly! There doesn’t seem to be a lot of turn over, so there’s always a familiar face. Prices have always seemed reasonable to me. 100% re

Just the best. Our dogs have been seeing both Dr. Laux and Dr. Hartilius since they were teenagers. Couldn’t be happier with the care and the love they show our fur babies.

This is my second or third review of this practice. I’ve been going there for about three years. I first saw Dr. Hartelius when I got a puppy about 3 1/2 years ago. Amazingly patient kind, soft spoken man so thorough. I could not have wanted a better vet for this new puppy, which is all very new for me. He found that one of his teeth had been broken, which I didn’t know , we had that taken care of, and my dog was always in very good hands. About a year after I started going there I was in a car accident with my dog and he had gotten hurt, but we couldn’t really tell what the injuries were. It wasn’t anything obvious , I called the office. They were closing and I was 35 minutes away. They stayed open and I saw Dr. Laux!! Again, incredibly thorough , incredibly patient .
