My dog's reactivity made walks unbearable and he could not calm down from the reactive episodes he was having. Alex's initial assessment gave me confidence that this behavior was manageable. Alex has truly been a lifesaver! Our Boston terrier, Vito, is full of energy and personality, and we were struggling to manage his impulses and behavior. Alex not only helped Vito learn how to channel that energy in a positive way, but also taught my husband and me how to work with him effectively. I can’t say enough about how incredible the whole team at Riverview Bark is. We signed up our 5 year old reactive beagle bull Penny for day training, and in just THREE DAYS we saw a difference. Alex was able to identify Penny’s unique problems, part of which involved retraining us as owners. Together, we worked through her reactivity, separation anxiety and overstimulation… and what we as owners were doing that contributed to those behaviors. Today, Penny can walk by other dogs without freaking out and without pulling, she knows her commands, and has become an overall more calm dog. I sent my dog here for a 6 week board and train program. We were having a really hard time with his reactivity and lack of control. From our first meeting, Alex was incredibly informative and gave us a very honest and thorough assessment of our dog’s behavior. After 6 weeks, our dog returned home so much calmer, confident and comfortable with his surroundings. Most importantly, we received tools to continue working with him at home. Bringing our dog to Riverview Bark was the best decision I made since adopting. It’s been life changing. I only wish we had done it sooner. Riverview Bark is amazing and we highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a trainer. We have done private training and day academy for our 10 month old golden doodle- Harvey. With private training we got one on one sessions with Alex where he would go over the basic commands and address any issues we were having with our pup. We definitely saw big improvements and got our puppy easily potty trained with the schedule Alex created for us. After our private sessions were done we decided to enroll Harvey in day academy to help build his confidence, socialize him and improve his leash manners.
