If you’re wondering whether a 30-day board-and-train with Mike is worth it, I can assure you that it is. I dropped off a chaotic woodland goblin and picked up a civilized citizen who now acts like he pays taxes. He went in acting like he was the CEO of Bad Decisions, and Mike somehow convinced him he is, in fact, not in charge of the universe. Calvin went in with three goals: ignore every command, selectively pretend to be deaf, and drag me through life like an unpaid sled dog. Mike apparently took that personally. Not only did he teach my hound manners, he somehow convinced him that listening is cool. I don’t know what kind of sorcery that is, but I support it. Calvin left me for a month and came back with better life skills than I have. He sits. He walks nicely. He was very reactive to p
Mike from Resolutions K9 Training Center has brought peace to our house. Zeus and Valentine are 2 yo Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. When we first met Mike they were both reactive to dogs and people to the point no one could come onto the property without the dogs being put away. There was constant fear that someone would be bitten. Additionally, their littermate syndrome was so bad there were constant fights between the two that often resulted in emergency vet visits. After meeting Mike, we decided to do a 30 day board and train with Zeus who was the most aggressive. The turn around was amazing! Zeus was a new dog. He listened. We were able to take him in public without fear of aggression. The results were so dramatic we decided to also do the 30 day board and train with his brother Valentine.
Wow, where to begin. Our dog, Beta, was reactive to dogs and people and very anxious about new experiences. After spending a month at board and train with Mike, he is listening to commands, calmer, his recall is amazing, and I can take him out in public without fear and being dragged down the street. His loose leash walk has improved immensely, and I can tell that he is eager to please and is still his silly self. If you are unsure about board and train (I was), don’t be. Mike is the best at what he does and has life-long friends in us. Thank you, Mike!
Aries is a 2-3 year old mastiff rescue; a very sweet dog, but came with a few quirks we wanted to make sure to address early given his size, breed mix, and unknown history. My husband and I immediately appreciated Mike's approach, recommendations, and methodology. The reality ended up being that we needed the training just as much (and maybe more) than Aries did! In just few sessions we were seeing our rescue become much more confident in knowing what we expected and we were becoming more confident in how he was integrating into our home. Additionally, his group classes have added another layer of confidence for us all in public settings, around strangers, other dogs, and distractions. 10 out of 10 recommend..........Mike's one on one and group classes are well worth the life-investment
We were really nervous about leaving our dog Frankie with a stranger for a whole month, especially because she was anxious and reactive around other dogs and people. But from the moment we met Mike at Resolutions K9, we could tell he genuinely loves and understands dogs. By the second week, when we came back to start working with her, it was clear that Frankie felt safe, comfortable, and happy with him—which gave us so much peace of mind. Mike not only helped Frankie build confidence, but he also taught us how to work with her using basic obedience so she could be calm and successful in public and around other dogs. She’s doing so well now, and we’re beyond thankful. It’s clear Mike has a gift, and we’re excited to keep training with him. Thank you, Mike—we can’t recommend you enough!
