Refined Canines

Have been here twice now and plan to continue. We brought both dogs this time and the golden doodle has never looked better! Jacob does excellent work and they are always friendly.

It is very difficult to find a groomer who will hand strip a wire haired dog. Refined Canines has stripped my dog twice before. It is an hour from my home. Jacob was helpful in giving me stripping tips and allowed me to watch. I recently called to make an appointment because my dog will be competing in obedience at a dog show. I called Jacob at Refined Canines and advised I had been doing the strippping myself, keeping the hair down, but needed him to look more like the breed standard. I wondered if I needed a 1 hour or 2 hour appointment and later asked if it was possible to do 1 1/2 hours. Jacob got on the phone and we talked about it and decided he needed 2 hours since he wanted to give my dog breaks. I booked this appointment 2 months out for right before the dog show. Today,

Three days just prior to our apt, our Chief was sprayed by a skunk. I had a text from Refined and it read any questions reach out to us. It was 10:30 at night. I text asking what to do. Immediately I got a response with directions. We followed them exactly and it worked. Thanks for the late night help! Today Chief came home with the cutest neck tie on and all shiny!! In the past, I have had very pleasant interactions with this business. However, in recent months, they have changed their online scheduling system. You can no longer select days that suit your schedule and must instead wait to be informed of a day and time that they can get your dog in. Also, it has been very difficult if not impossible to contact an actual human being when attempting to reach them by phone. Additionally, in recent months they have raised their prices significantly. Where I was once paying $50~ per simple session, I was now paying $75+ for a simple wash, cut and trim of my small dog. Professional, extraordinarily talented! Every month we drive hour and 15 to get here as groomer’s and his scissor work and care for canines is exemplary! Feel fortunate that groomer/breeder we just moved away from after 32 years got us recommendation for this very nice groomer who has excelled in the national and international professional grooming world and continues to learn and grow. Our 2 bouviers turn heads on the street, they are magnificant looking.
