I reached out to Reenee’s Haven Great Dane Sanctuary seeking help for our dog, hoping for guidance or possible placement options. Instead of receiving compassion or understanding, I was met with a condescending and disrespectful response. The representative sent a message implying that people who surrender dogs are simply giving up on them, which was both unfair and deeply hurtful. When I expressed how upsetting that message was—given the difficult situation we were facing—they responded with unprofessional and hostile language, including profanity. I was shocked that an organization claiming to care for animals would treat someone seeking help this way. Marshmallow, my English bulldog, loves coming to stay with Mark when I need to board him. Mark also trained him so, I can also be sure that my dog isn’t learning any bad habits or behaviors during his stay. I can also recommend Mark and Jennifer as an excellent training team as well as a boarding facility.

I am so thankful for Mark’s boarding and training services. We drive an hour each way because Reenee’s Haven is the perfect fit for our dog and our family. We can now travel without worry; our dog so clearly adores Mark and his dogs. I recommend Reenee’s Haven for all dogs, however, having an 85-pound Great Dane mix, I particularly value Mark’s care and training for large and giant breeds. Other boarding/daycare settings weren’t sized for our dog – the fencing was too low, the dog play groups were too big, and the supervision was sometimes lax. By contrast, Mark introduced our dog to his facility slowly and carefully, getting to know her, making sure she was safe, and giving her a chance to get familiar. We recently began working with Mark on training our 10 month old black lab. Prior to our first training session, we were quickly losing confidence that our dog would ever be a respectful member of the family. By the second training session, we were already seeing a tremendous difference in our dog - and by session 3, we saw a completely different dog! Mark was extremely knowledgeable and worked to figure out the best methods to work with our dog - it was not a "one size fits all" approach and I truly believe that is why we saw such quick results. Highly recommend Reenee's Haven to fellow large breed dog owners! We've boarded our dog several times and have had all positive experiences. Mark is very responsive, flexible, and reliable. He's also provided some great training advice for stopping a few bad habits. Most importantly, it's very clear our dog loves her stays -- and we love that she gets plenty of attention, exercise, and playtime with other large dogs.
