Raccoon River Pet Rescue

Had an awesome experience adopting my little guy "Cash". Adoption process was super easy, went to go meet him and the staff, staff were super friendly, facility was well taken care of and clean. We were able to have Cash meet one of his new sisters, and we were able to take him home the same day.

Raccoon River Pet Rescue is hands down one of the best shelters around! You can tell the staff and volunteers truly love the animals and go above and beyond to make sure they’re cared for and happy. The place is always clean, the animals are well taken care of, and everyone there is so kind and helpful. It’s clear they really care about finding the right homes and giving every pet the best chance at a great life. I can’t say enough good things about this rescue — they’re awesome!

My husband, kids, our pup and I came to do a meet and greet with a dog that we thought would be a good fit for our family. My husband said Natalie did a great job asking questions that were thorough and to make sure Zeb would be going to a good family. He said he could tell they don’t just let anyone adopt and actually asks questions to be sure. Im glad they do a verification check as well when we applied. She provided us with some goodies and was so kind and helpful. We came home with Zeb the very same day and am so happy to have him part of our family. Very clean facility and awesome staff. Thank you guys!

The facility is clean and well taken care of. The cats/kittens are able to play and interact all day in their designated rooms instead of being in small kennels all day like some facilities. The staff are accommodating and helpful, ensuring that you have the time and ability to find your new family member. Additionally, they are very knowledgeable and willing to answer any and all questions. You can tell that they want the animals to be adopted into good and loving homes. I highly recommend adopting from this facility!! I will definitely adopt from them in the future when I decide to add a new family member. Absolutely hands down the best rescue I have ever been in. Staff are top notch. Animals are very well taken care of. I have adopted two dogs from here and both being the best dogs I’ve ever had. One was 6 years old and this one was a puppy. Healthy and well taken care of. I can’t give a higher recommendation to this establishment. I’m glad there is a safe place for these animals. These are my babies. Unfortunately I lost Churro (the white one) to cancer. I then went back to see about another dog not actually thinking I would get one and fell in love with Luna and took her home. Hats off to this rescue!
