Prince George County Animal Shelter

I went there to bring a stray dog in. They took my info and took care of the dog. I decided to look at the cats and ended up adopting Amy. They were really busy so I did wait awhile. But I was super understanding about it. Adoption process prob took 10 min. The 3 staff I interacted with were friendly. The shelter was very clean. I’m very appreciative of what they do for these animals.

We stopped in to see the dogs for adoption and left with the sweetest and kindest 9.11 year old beagle, Betty. She has had a rough life but is well behaved, knew exact how to sit in a car seat, acts like she has never seen a TV before, loves meeting new people, hasn't barked all day, loves to be covered up with a blanket for bed, doesn't eat our 19+ year old cat's food, and loves to walk/run around her new house. Thanks Prince George County Animal Services and staff for taking care of Betty and making the adoption process so easy. Also, thanks to Colonial Heights, Subaru for the box of toys and other items.

Me and my fiance Jean just adopted Fisher. He's a wonderful male kitty that is full of energy and love ❤️. Fisher has a wonderful, loving home now here in Carson!

the boss of the place was unbelievable. also they where under investigation for animal abuse. all the other employees are amazing including the aco’s. the animals where kept in disgusting conditions behind the scenes. they don’t get bathed unless the vet tells them to bathe the animal. they would take day/days old kittens and put them with moms that have multiple week old kittens. 90% of the time they passed away because the foster mom doesn’t have the correct nutrients (colostrum) a day old kitten needs anymore. anyone with basic kitten knowledge knows this. i never saw anyone attempt to bottle feed the kittens or give them any other chance of life. they put multiple (2-4) kittens ranging from 5 weeks to a month old in large bird cages, they had it the best though. they would put two smal
