I must’ve just had an unfortunate bad experience because there is plenty of good reviews for this place. Decided to bring my cat in for a nail trim a while back. He behaves very poorly when I try to trim his nails so I wanted to try a professional. When I walked in I was just told to place my cat on the front desk. There was a cute pup walking around freely but of course my skiddish cat was absolutely terrified with his puffed up tail. I told her that he’s an anxious cat hoping she would put him somewhere private or wait for him to calm down but instead she went straight for the nail trim anyway out in the open with the dog getting in my cats face. To no ones surprise my cat started biting and scratching the lady trimming his nails to the point that I decided it was just best to wrap it u

All 3 groomers seemed great. I brought in my new rescue, Hazel. Multnomah County Animal Services had sheared off severe matting on her legs and back half. Our groomer Lydia was very nice, sweet with my girl, and did a great job. Will post before and after. I recommend them wholeheartedly...

Wow, such a wonderful groomer. I had rescued a Maltipoo and had never had a dog like this before. Portland Ave Grooming made such a big difference in this little guys life! When I picked him up Wally was waiting to greet me, he loved hanging out with them. He looked like he was part of the team!

I've been using Portland Ave Grooming for over three years now for my two large doodles. My boys went from not wanting to go into the scary groomers, to now they're excited to spend the day getting pampered by their friend, Jamie. She does a great job and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. It's a busy shop, so I recommend making your appointments in advance. I always schedule their next ones when I pick them up. Lydia is the best at grooming my Australian Labradoodle from Bedrock Labradoodles. I am very picky about how I like my dog hair. Lydia nailed it every time. I just made an appointment for our new older mini Australian Labradoodle today and I’m so excited to continue to support this amazing place.
