Gave my long haired chihuahua a great haircut! Definitely going back

We were in the area from out of state and needed our old man groomed and a shave down. They were able to fit us in for an appointment a week after we called which we were happy about. The staff was fantastic the gave us the cut that we wanted and our boy looks like a new dog. I wish I knew booking the appt that it was cash or check only but we went down the street and grabbed cash before picking him up. Outside of that very minor thing I would 100% recommend and if we are back in the area will definitely be using this service again!

They did a great job, my puppy came back clean and was cheerful when I picked her up! They only take cash or check, which they did mention when they told me the total. I would prefer if they were more transparent for prices (what they charged me was reasonable, just would like to know somehow besides word of mouth) and it would be nice to pay with a card.

They are tough to get a quick appointment but that is because they are great. My dogs are treated very gently and enjoy the attention, prices are very reasonable and fair, they stand behind their work! My pups have mixed coats and require multiple blades to get a short smooth cut, the one time it looked choppy and I called to complain it looked rough she told me to bring him back to fix it. She put him right back on the table even though they had closed 30 minutes before I arrived and redid it all testing blades to find what worked best. He looked great and she smiled said it was no big deal that customer happiness was the priority even though we were over an hour after closing when done, then noted the blades and directions for next time on his card.

We had used one of the other local dog groomers for some time. They were good, but thought we'd give The Pooch Parlor on State Street a try. I stopped in one day to check them out and see what they would charge to bathe and groom our two Aussies. As it happened, there was an Aussie being groomed and she looked great. I asked about the charge and was told, "This one is $50." So I said "$50 each for our two Aussies" to confirm. There was no disagreement or correction. I made an appointment to drop our dogs off the following Monday at 9am. When I dropped the dogs off we went over what I wanted done: bathe, groom, de-mat, trim the feathers, etc. They asked about any sensitivities or spots on the dogs to be aware of.
